Thankfulness

yay for cold weather and a thankful season!

As i am welcomed into fall by the 40 degree weather and break of school, i’ve decided to reflect on what thanksgiving means to me. Thanksgiving was always a time you were off from school, dressed up as a pilgrim, stuffed your face, and ‘watched’ football. But what is this time really meant for?

“if you only had what you were thankful for yesterday”, thats something i heard recently and really stuck with me. When i think about what i notice daily its big things like health, family, and friends. But when you think about those things and why you are thankful for them, you wouldn’t be thankful unless they were those particular relationships.

Health

I am so blessed for not only mine but my family’s health. After having my mom (aka best friend) suffer from breast cancer her health and the rest of my people healthy is a real blessing.

Family

besides a healthy mom, my sister, dad, and dog (chicken) mean the world to me. My sister, currently a fre$ie in college, left my heart broken when moved away. Though it was sad, i am so grateful it was because that showed how much she meant to me. Her ‘first child qualities’ keep me stable, and her warm and open heart make me feel so loved.

Friends

Last year i was struggling with entering HS and the breaking of friend groups and how to move on from that. My dance team was always there for me and gave the some of the bestest friends that i can have forever (yes, i know, that is soo cheesy but soo true because they’re my people) My friends adventurous spirit and smiles fill me with so much joy. I couldn’t be more grateful for my late night cookie dough snacking, Jesus talking, cheap concert buying, and hug-lovin friends.

So happie thanksgiving, go hug on your loved ones. Let your thankfulness be more than just one day- spread the love and spread the joy.

xoxo, FAB.
